PERSONAL STATEMENT:

Region VIII has one of the largest membership rolls within NAFSA.  Region VIII has a long history of NAFSA contributions including the first edition of the F-1 Beginner’s Manual by Massume Assaf and Linda Gentile, the first to enthusiastically embrace regional networking groups such as the Philadelphia P.A.I.E.N. group, and an active embassy dialogue committee.  These initiatives are only a few examples of the energy and creativity of the Region VIII membership.  My initial goal is to foster and support the wonderful creative spirit of Region VIII.

NAFSA, particularly Region VIII, has always provided the support necessary to excel in my various professional positions.  I view this level of service as a way for me to contribute to the organization at large and say “thank you” to all members in Region VIII.
